What is a MicroTox Facial?

how it works
Firstly, the skin is cleansed and a topical numbing agent is applied for 30 minutes. Then, during the treatment a series of small injections are made into the dermal layer of the skin using a microstamping technique. The depth of the needles ranges between 0.5 mm - 1.0 mm. A crafted mixture of active ingredients such as vitamins, anti-oxidants, amino acids and hyaluronic acid known as Mesotherapy and Botox™ is micro-infused. This mixture is tailored to address individual needs and concerns of the patients. These ingredients work together to stimulate collagen production, increase cell turnover, hydrate and nourish the skin.

what to expect
How should I prepare for your treatment?
Be free from any contraindications and notify the clinic if any of the following apply. Use of retinol & derivatives and/or abrasive scrubs 3 days prior. cosmetic injectables within the last 2 weeks, active cold sores, open lesions, sunburn, blood thinning medications, use of accutane within the last 6 months, pregnant or breastfeeding, bleeding disorders, rosacea, psoriasis or dermatitis.
How long will the treatment take?
90 mins.
Is there anything I should avoid post treatment?
If possible try to avoid wearing any make-up for 24 hrs. If make-up must be worn we suggest only mineral make-up. Avoid active ingredients for the first 48 hours, then resume regular skin care routine.
Do I need a follow up appointment?
No follow-up is required but this treatment is suggested to be repeated every 12 weeks for a series of 4 treatments/year.
Common Question
How is Microneedling different from the MicroTox Facial?
Traditional microneedling is referred to as collagen induction therapy. With the SkinPen microneedling device it has a wider range of needle depth settings to allow for a more focussed treatment plan based on specific concerns. SkinPen microneedling is better known to help improve acne scars along with fine-lines and more advanced wrinkles. SkinPen Microneedling is not combined with Mesotherapy or Botox. SkinPen microneedling sessions are spaced 4-6 weeks apart whereas the MicroTox treatments are spaced 12 weeks apart.
