what are Botox® wrinkle injections
Wrinkle injections are treatments used to smooth away your facial wrinkles and to relax the muscles of your face, resulting in smoother, rejuvenated and younger looking skin. Botox for wrinkles is the leading treatment we use at our St. Albert clinic.
how it works
Botox®, also known as onabotulinumtoxinA or as a neuromodulator, is used for our wrinkle injection treatment. It has been used extensively for facial rejuvenation and it is still the leading treatment for facial wrinkles.
Once one of our physicians or nurses has given your face wrinkle injections, your facial muscles will relax and your facial wrinkles will be smoothed over to reveal line-free skin over a 2 week period.

what to expect
How should I prepare for my procedure?
We recommend to discontinue use of blood thinners 5-7 days prior. If you are medically directed to take blood thinners please confirm with your prescribing doctor that it is ok to do so.
How long will the treatment take?
Appointment can take up to 30 minutes.
Is there anything I should avoid post-procedure?
Do NOT lie down for 4 hour after treatment. Do NOT rub or massage the treated areas today. No strenuous exercise, hot tubs or steam rooms for 24 hours. Please DO actively use the injected muscles by frowning, smiling & raising forehead for 4 hours post injection.
How long will healing take?
It takes up to 14 days to see the full results.
Can I continue my regular skin care routine?
We recommend to continue skin care regime and avoid any active products for 72 hrs (retinol, exfoliants etc.). Avoid professional treatments (laser, waxing, microdermabrasions, facials etc.) for 14 days post.
How long after my appointment will my follow up appointment take place?
Botox Cosmetic™ is temporary and at first your results will last approximately 3-4 months. If you return on a regular basis (every 4-6 months) you may have a cumulative effect as the muscles forget how to contract, giving you longer lasting results over time.
